Staff Appreciation Week is May 8 - May 12!  Our Sunny Hills PTA Staff Appreciation committee needs your help!  You can help in many ways! Please click HERE to sign up to donate food or bring coffee for a staff member.  Please click HERE to sign up to volunteer during the week with making signs at recess or making flower arrangements.

Here is a preview of the fun ways we are showing appreciation for our staff during Staff Appreciation Week:
  • Monday: The students will be signing large "Thank You" posters at recess.
  • Tuesday: Students bring flowers for the Sunny Hills Staff!  Volunteers will mix and match all the flowers to make beautiful arrangements for every staff member.
  • Wednesday: Have your student write a special note to our teacher and other staff members such as specialists, paras, custodians, etc.
  • Thursday: Favorite morning beverages will be delivered to ALL staff members (sign-ups are in link above)
  • Friday: Wear your teacher's favorite color or sports team! [Teacher's Name]'s favorite color is [favorite color].  [Teacher's Name]'s favorite sports team is [favorite sports team].

Thank you for participating in this special week and if you have any questions, please email [email protected]!

Join The Arc of King County’s Rachel Nemhauser, Community and Family Support Program Manager, and Jae Kim, MSW, Information and Resource Coordinator, for an exploration of services available in King County and Washington State for people covering the array of community resources for students with Developmental Disabilities and their families. This informative and informal conversation is a great opportunity to find out what help is available, and to get your questions answered regarding resources through ARC, local community resources and DDA (waivers", respite care, therapies, behavior support, etc).

Financial & Estate Planning for Families

5/1/2023

Mr. Sweeny and Ms. Burke will be presenting on the topic of Financial Strategies and Estate Planning.  There are three Phases of Family Life, based on age, for a child with special needs: Pre-Guardianship, Post-Guardianship, and Independent Living. Each phase has its own unique financial and legal challenges. However, with proper planning, parents/guardians can hopefully find peace, knowing that their child’s financial well-being is protected throughout their life span as well as in the event of an unforeseen life change. We will discuss the resources available to you and have an open conversation where you can ask questions and/or share life experiences.  Free to all who would like to join.
