Although I have been teaching for over 20 years, this is my fourth year at Sunny Hills. Prior to Sunny Hills, I taught in special education classrooms that spanned from preschool to teaching GED prep to 21 year olds. I have taught in New York, New Jersey, and Ohio before settling in Washington. I have been teaching on and off for the Issaquah School District since 2007 working at Discovery, Pine Lake, Tiger Mountain, Maple Hills, Newcastle, and finally landing at Sunny Hills. These past few years have brought challenges that I never thought I would have to tackle but I have made me appreciate seeing my student's smiling faces and has shown the grit that Sunny Hills students and families have. I have been so lucky to be a part of this community and work with such wonderful staff and families. I little look into my home life, I have three children, my two oldest are in college and my youngest is a sophomore at Skyline. One hobby that I have is working with horses and children to promote rehabilitation for the horses and healing and growth for the children. I have been doing this for over 10 years. The past few years, I adopted a rescue horse named Bear and recently added trail horse named Winn. My weekends are spent at the farm or following my kids to lacrosse or hockey events.
I am looking forward to another amazing year at Sunny Hills. Go Mustangs!
