With school winding down, we are thinking of the year ahead and talking about transitioning to the next grade. Even though we don't know who each student's teacher is, we will talk about what the next year will look like.
In Kindergarten Social, we will be working on Zones of Regulation and creating a book on Mondays. This will take us a few weeks to complete but I am excited to see the results!!
Power Packs - Food for the Weekend!
Sunny Hills is partnering with the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank to provide Power Packs - a free program that provides students non-perishable breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack foods for the weekend throughout the school year. Students who sign up will receive a pack of food each Friday morning from our School Counselor, Celina Schulenberg.
Register to receive a power pack here: Power Pack Sign-Up .
You can also reach out to Ms. Schulenberg directly with questions or to sign-up.
We will be beginning a unit on kindness and talk about what it means to be kind.
I hope everyone has a wonderful break. See you next year!
We have been working this fall on what a successful morning routine looks like. We talked about where to look in the classroom for morning news (usually on the digital white board) and what jobs are expected of them each morning.
We also worked on what it looks like to be an active learner in different settings.
We worked on hands to self and read Hands Are Not For Hitting . We talked about all the different uses we have for our hands
Discussed the proper way to ask and take a break.
Used images to review what an active learner looks like.
We reviewed and practiced how to walk in a line.
